The Department of Cultural Heritage Sciences DiSPaC in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair “Plants_for_Health_in_Medicinal_Traditions” and the Interdepartmental Research Centre “Althea” organize the Trainig week of the StoryPharm project.
StoryPharm_Doctoral_Fellows will receive a three-day intensive training course on the topic
- Notions and Methodology of Narrative and in Literary Criticism, how to use sources, data and critical skills to approach ancient and medieval sources and cultures – DISPAC lecturers;
- How the “medical schools” functioned in the Middle Ages, starting with Salerno – Althea academic members;
- Historical knowledge of medicinal plants, scientific traditions and uses, including insights into their application in the most recent pharmaco technological developments – UNESCO Chair Holder Rita P. Aquino, P.I. Alain Touwaide, and members of the research team, Teresa Mencherini e Tiziana Esposito.
StoryPharm “StoryTelling As Pharmakon In Premodernity And Beyond: Training The New Generation of Researchers In Health Humanities” hosts 20 foreign PhD students (either not-Italian or trained abroad), who have applied for PhD positions (recruitment in a.y. 2025/2026) in the research areas for individual projects outlined in the Call for positions of the partner universities: - Università of Cardiff, UK
