July 19st-August 3th 2025 – Ethnobotanical Investigation – Conservatorio di Etnbotanica, Castelluccio Superiore, Pz, Italy

Dr. Giovanni Canora, co-founder of the Chair, is the organizer of the on-field activities for “Ethnobotanical Investigation”, a project conceived by Conservatorio di Etnobotanica (Castelluccio Superiore, Pz, Italy), partner of our UNESCO Chair, in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy (UNIMI DISFARM), University of Milan, Botanical Garden “GE Ghirardi” and VOS Foundation.

The Ethnobotanical Investigation (July 19th-August 3rd) aims to substantiate the traditional uses of wild plants through interviews with citizens of the small towns of Castelluccio Superiore, Castelluccio Inferiore, Agromonte, and others in the Mercure Valley.

The collected data, scientifically analysed and validated, will provide an accurate and useful image of the local ethnobotany and will be disseminated to the public in the form of a divulgative compendium.
