Le Cattedre Italiane UNESCO hanno iniziato in ottobre 2020 un cammino lanciando il progetto “Dialoghi delle Cattedre UNESCO: un laboratorio di idee per il mondo che verrà”, strutturato come incontri volti a stimolare il dialogo scientifico sugli obiettivi dell’Agenda 2030, che si è concluso con l’emanazione della Dichiarazione delle Cattedre UNESCO Italiane per la Sostenibilità e la Transizione Socio-ecologica. Le Cattedre UNESCO italiane, con la Dichiarazione, operando come soggetto collettivo impegnato a divenire una “comunità di saperi”, offrono il loro contributo alla rivoluzione ecologica per la quale occorrono un pensiero integrato, l’impego di tutti, un profondo cambiamento di sguardo su sé stessi e sul mondo, al fine di realizzare un nuovo paradigma di sviluppo umano in armonia con il pianeta che ci ospita. La dichiarazione offre un contributo di idee e competenze ai decisori politici nazionali ed internazionali, a UNESCO, alle istituzioni universitarie italiane e, soprattutto, si rivolge alle persone e alle comunità di tutto il mondo.
