Couroupita guianensis, a medicinal plant widely used in traditional South American and Indian medicine, has long been valued for its healing properties. Our research focused on its bark decoction, a remedy traditionally used in Amazonian shamanic medicine, to explore its potential against gastric cancer. We found that this natural extract can significantly inhibit cancer cell growth by blocking cell proliferation and triggering self-destruction mechanisms. These findings provide scientific validation for the traditional use of C. guianensis and highlight its potential as a promising therapeutic agent.
