SEPTEMBER 29th 2021 News from UNESCO: – International UNESCO Earth Network – Call for volunteer Earth Network

On December 1st 2020, Ms Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO launched a Multi-Partner Trust Fund “UNESCO Network of international environmental experts – the UNESCO Earth Network” with a global resource mobilization target of USD 20 million over an initial period of 4 years. The Fund became effective with the signature of a funding agreement between Italy, the first donor and founding partner, and UNESCO, with a contribution of USD 3.9 million over three years. The Italian UNESCO Chairs and MABs (Man and the Biosphere Programme) are pleased to share with you the call of Volunteer experts and knowledge holders, including indigenous and local people and youth, to support the contribution of UNESCO designated sites and Conventions to the interlinked challenges of biodiversity loss and climate change and demonstrate that living in harmony with nature is possible.
